I don't know if I believe that anyone actually managed to pry the boards off the door. Man this game is HARD! I said if the video hit an amount of likes I'd beat it and it smashed that in 24 hours! So here is my 2nd attempt at this god-forsaken game!!
(Also - I'm thinking about if you show up in her camera: if I should add a visual for the player like you mentioned. But I like not knowing exactly what the player looks like, I like it feeling that way. But I may add in a player character model.)
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely terrifying, in the best way possible
I went into Deadcam thinking it would just be another found-footage style horror game, but wow… it completely pulled me in. The live headcam mechanic is genius, it’s unsettling, immersive, and made me feel like I was really trapped in that rural house with Margo. The pacing is spot-on: moments of quiet tension explode into pure panic, and I caught myself holding my breath more than once.
The atmosphere is thick with dread, the sound design is amazing (every creak made me flinch), and the story feels personal and mysterious in a way that makes me want to replay it to catch details I missed.
I can’t wait for the full release, if the demo is this good, I can only imagine how intense the finished game will be. And yes… the raccoon really does know everything. 🦝

idea is super good, but the game is too hard for me :( she sprints at me with speeds over mach 10 and i cant tell where she is cuz i dont see much from the deadcam
Aww ok! In the full game which is coming out soon on Steam, there are many more mechanics and items which help in knowing where she is and seeing where she is easier!

Awesome demo! I love games that just throw you right in with little context, it makes the atmosphere and situation more menacing. The raccons definitely threw me for a loop as well, excited for the full release to see what happens and to test more mechanics!
I played this game with the idea in mind that I would be able to at the very least unlock the door. However you could technically beat this demo in about 15 seconds, as you can just run up and talk to the entity that ends the demo. However despite this I thoroughly enjoyed this short little experience.
Thanks for playing! The demo’s designed so players can either take their time exploring or rush straight to its ending if they want, kind of like a mini sandbox before the full game. Deciding where to end it was difficult: I’d prefer for everyone to get the full experience, but a demo’s gotta wrap up somewhere! The full game ofc has more length / depth / items / mechanics / gameplay, as I stripped down for this demo. I’m glad you enjoyed this little slice!
I give this indie horror game a 5/5 here is why. I think the idea of seeing the monster face at all times is a good idea. I was looking at it and trying to see if it was close to me or not. The house was also really well done to. Really dark and spooky looking, I was on edge on ever sound that I heard and make.

(Also, the demo by default launches at 1920x1080. If you change it to others like 2560x1440 in the settings menu, it looks a LOT cleaner but ofc, sometimes at the cost of performance depending on the PC!)

This is hands down one of the best horror games ive seen in a long time! The idea is simple and effective but also the random twist of a story with the racoon, absolute cinema. thank you for creating this masterpiece and I cant wait for the full game!
